Kemi Adetiba Confirms Release Date for ‘King of Boys 3: The Beginning of the End’

Adetiba, celebrated for her box-office hits The Wedding Party and the King of Boys series, shared the news with fans on Instagram during her birthday

Renowned Nollywood filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has announced that the eagerly awaited third chapter of her acclaimed franchise, King of Boys, will debut on December 25, 2025. Titled The Beginning of the End, the release promises to add extra excitement to the festive Detty December celebrations.


Adetiba, celebrated for her box-office hits The Wedding Party and the King of Boys series, shared the news with fans on Instagram during her birthday, accompanied by a rousing rallying cry:

“KOB Army… ARISE!!! It’s time… We MOOOOOOOVE. Signed: Your General. #KOB3 #TheBeginningOfTheEnd #DettyDecember25 #KAV25.”


Returning Legends and New Faces

The latest installment will continue the gripping saga of Alhaja Eniola Salami, portrayed by Nollywood star Sola Sobowale. The indomitable character is once again thrust into the heart of a high-stakes political battle, a role that has cemented Sobowale’s status as a powerhouse in the industry.


Fans can also anticipate the return of other fan-favorites while new characters add fresh dimensions to the storyline. The franchise, which began in 2018, has earned widespread acclaim for its intricate plots and captivating performances. The sequel, King of Boys: The Return of the King, premiered on Netflix in 2021 and shattered viewership records, further solidifying the series’ legacy.


A Trailblazing Career

Kemi Adetiba’s journey from radio to filmmaking has been nothing short of remarkable. Starting as a presenter at Rhythm 93.7 FM, she later transitioned to television, hosting and producing hit shows like Studio 53 and Temptation Nigeria.


Determined to pursue her passion for filmmaking, Adetiba trained at the New York Film Academy, where she honed her craft. Her short film, Across a Bloodied Ocean, debuted at the 2009 Pan African Film Festival, marking the beginning of her rise in global cinema. In 2016, she directed The Wedding Party, a film that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and became a Nollywood sensation.


Beyond the Throne

While fans eagerly await the December release of King of Boys 3, Adetiba has teased other projects in development, including To Kill A Monkey and Welcome to the Fourth. Known for her ability to push creative boundaries and break records, she remains a driving force in African cinema.
