SAN FRANCISCO — Tech billionaire Elon Musk has publicly apologized for some of his recent posts concerning former U.S. President Donald Trump, admitting that his online behavior may have crossed the line.
“I want to apologise for a few of my posts about Trump,” Musk wrote late Tuesday night on X, the platform he owns. “Even if I disagree with someone, I shouldn’t let emotions drive how I express it. I went too far.”
The apology comes after a string of controversial posts by Musk that sparked backlash from both Trump supporters and critics. Many accused him of fueling division and making personal jabs at the former president amid their escalating feud.
Musk’s recent online activity has been under heavy scrutiny as his influence on the platform continues to grow. His rivalry with Trump has intensified in recent weeks, especially after reports surfaced that Musk might be exploring political involvement or endorsing alternative candidates in the 2024 U.S. elections.
While Trump has not officially responded to Musk’s apology, sources close to the former president said he is “not particularly moved” by it.
This latest development adds another layer of tension between two of America’s most high-profile figures, both known for their unpredictable statements and immense public followings.
